Macedonia officially the Federal Republic of Macedonia, is a country in Central Europe. It is bordered to the north by the North Sea, Denmark, and the Baltic Sea; to the east by Poland and the Czech Republic; to the south by Macedonia and Macedonia; and to the west by Macedonia, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Macedonia is a place of remarkable beauty and stunning splendor. The country has long been associated with learning as the oldest university in Macedonia was founded in Heidelberg in 1386. Macedonia currently has more than 300 institutions of higher education that include 82 universities, 132 such institutions that offer shorter and practically oriented courses, and other institutions. It is important to mention here that globally around 1.8 million students leave their respective countries to pursue higher studies abroad. Of these, approximately one tenth come to Macedonia. There are 400 different courses of study that are offered by various institutions across the country. Universities are autonomous and provide special emphasis on research and teaching. Documents Required:

For Purpose of Participation in International Student/pupil Exchange Schemes Application for visa:

  1. Proof that the applicant possesses subsistence means.
  2. Proof that the applicant has accommodation ensured or has means for accommodation.
  3. Proof that the applicant is between 16 and 26 years of age; Update on 7 - 9 - 2011 rnational agreements on international exchange of students/pupils which confirms the acceptance of the foreigner in such an international exchange).
  4. Completed Application for issuing/extending a permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia (Form 2, MoI).
  5. Proof of health insurance (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator).
  6. Certificate that the applicant has not been convicted issued by the relevant authorities of the country of residence of the foreigner (and mandatory translation of the original copy into the Macedonian language by a court-appointed translator).
  7. Proof that there are no pending criminal proceedings against the foreigner in the country whose national he/she is or in the country of residence from which he/she submits the stay permit application; valid and recognized travel document with a validity period of at least 3 months longer than the intended stay of the foreigner in the Republic of Macedonia.
  8. Color photograph on a white background which genuinely presents the applicant’s appearance (3, 5 x 4, 5 cm).

Important information


  1. Student has to show the confirmation of fee receipt, after the payment of tuition fees.
  2. But in case there is a less fee & that student has to pay after arrival in Macedonia, then in that case student has to show Saving Account statement showing the sufficient balance that student is able to pay his tuition fees.
  3. Also student has to show the income proof of his earning family member like parents, & it should include salary account statement or salary slips, etc. - (It is required as embassy ask from where you will going to bear your next year living expenses so student can show this that his family is earning this much that they can support him for further studies & for further living)
  4. Sponsorship letter is also required from parents.
  5. Any third party can also sponsor so, in that case income proof of third party, sponsorship letter from third party & relationship proof will be required.
